Thanksgiving Bingo
The whole family can join together and play Thanksgiving themed Bingo. To make the
experience more speech-oriented, players can take turns saying:
“I have .....” or “I don’t have ....”
Additionally, words with multiple syllables could be spoken slowly and have each syllable
clapped out as they are spoken. Words that are monosyllabic could have their first consonant be
emphasized.
Example:
Pumpkin: pump(clap)-kin(clap) pumpkin
Pear: /p/-/p/-pear
After playing a few rounds, the child can have a turn being the person that does the bingo
call-outs. Encourage the child to clap for each syllable.
Benefit: Encourages social interaction and expressive language. The word repetitions will also
help with articulation and breaking down words into smaller units.
